SALT has been delivering programs and services since 1995. It is a governed by an all-Indigenous board, each member of which has land management expertise, and includes a representative from ISC in an ex-officio capacity.
SALT serves all First Nations who require its expertise, including FNLM, RLEMP, and non-RLEMP regimes. It has developed a reputation, amongst First Nations and ISC alike, as a competent, non-political provided of services and programs.
Saskatchewan Aboriginal Land Technicians are committed to fostering meaningful partnerships guided by Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession OCAP® principles. SALT believes that partnerships should be built with intent, ensuring they are reciprocal and mutually beneficial. SALT aims to engage in partnerships that facilitate knowledge mobilization, allowing for a two-way exchange of information and expertise. SALT strives to create partnerships that respect the autonomy and sovereignty of all parties involved, working together towards common goals while honoring individual and collective rights.
Engagement with SALT and our collective members does not result in consultation. Partners and relationships are rooted in reciprocity. Partnerships and support will remain non-political and educational in nature.
